7th Grader Wins 2nd Place in National Robotics Contest
Florida Cyber Charter Academy (FLCCA) is proud to announce that one of its students, Josiah Schubert, a talented 7th grader from Holiday, FL, achieved second place in the 2024 K12 National Robotics Competition. This national event, presented by Stride, brought together top student teams from across the U.S. to showcase their coding, robotics, and problem-solving skills.
From Florida to the National Stage
Josiah and his team, CyberCATS (Coding and Technical Stuff), began their robotics journey earlier this year. Competing against hundreds of students, they advanced through two virtual rounds before earning a spot in the finals held in Reston, VA. The team’s dedication and innovation helped them shine amongst other top-performing teams nationwide.
The Final Rounds
In the final round of the competition, Josiah and his team faced a challenging task: programming a robot to move two blocks from a starting point to a designated square on a robotics mat. The competition was intense, with each team pushing for precision and innovation, knowing that every second was crucial to success. After months of preparation and practice, the CyberCATS delivered an impressive performance, earning second place a showing of their teamwork, creativity, and dedication to their craft.
