Celebrating Our Teachers on World Teacher’s Day

Stories & Spotlights
World Teacher's Day

What Made You Want to Become a Teacher?

My mother 😊 She’s a veteran teacher of over 37 years. Watching her teach and seeing the positive feedback she’s receive from not just her peers and students, but her parents as well really touched me. I knew I had an outstanding mom. It was even more amazing to know that others felt that same way as I did!

What’s Your Favorite Thing About Teaching at FLCCA?

Meeting teachers and students from all over the state. I’ve made lifelong friendships since working here.

What’s One Lesson You’ve Learned from Your Students?

I’ve learned to always stay current with the times and to not be afraid to make mistakes in front of them. Students need to know that we aren’t perfect and how we as teachers handle our mistakes.

What’s the Most Fulfilling Part of Your Job?

Watching students succeed in their academic or personal growth. Watching them take the tools that I’ve taught them and apply it in not only their school work, but in life too.

What’s One Lesson You Hope Your Students Remember as They Grow?

Mistakes are just happy little accidents. We can always fix or learn from them.

The Numbers Behind the Impact

While the stories of individual teachers are powerful, take a look at these national statistics that give a glimpse into the incredible commitment teachers have to their classroom

Today, and every day, we are grateful for the lasting impact they make. Here’s to our amazing teachers—thank you for all that you do!
